Description of the procedure

Plastic surgery or removal of an ingrown toenail are surgical procedures aimed at solving the problem of a nail that grows into the soft tissues of the finger. These treatments provide pain relief, prevent infections and help the nail grow properly.

How it's working?

Nailplasty involves gently moving the ingrowing part of the nail away from the soft tissue and using special techniques that prevent re-ingrowth. In more advanced cases, it may be necessary to surgically remove part or all of the nail plate. The procedure may be complemented by treatment of local inflammation.

Effects:

• Removal of pain and discomfort
• Prevention of infections and inflammation
• Improving the appearance of the nail
• Possibility of proper nail regrowth

Indications:

• Ingrown toenails, which cause pain, redness and swelling
• Recurrent periungual infections
• Failure of less invasive treatments

Duration of the treatment

The procedure usually takes 30 to 60 minutes and is performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia.
